Tower cranes are usually built for construction sites. Deep inside a protected section of the Amazon rainforest in Brazil, four Liebherr 85 EC-B units are doing something entirely different, namely lifting scientists above the rainforest canopy to study how the world’s largest tropical forest may respond to rising CO₂ levels in the coming decades.
