Gaining a Foot(e) in the Business!
Meet Jon Foote, NJ Crane Expert’s First Aid/CPR Instructor, NCCER Assessment Proctor, Practical Examiner & Certified Operator and Product & Gear Specialist. This Jack (or Jon) of all trades has been working in the tree service industry since 2012, and in 2023 joined NJ Crane Expert bringing with him over a decade’s worth of knowledge and experience.
Jon has always been passionate about climbing and the outdoors; he started rock climbing as soon as I could walk and by 13 years-old he took his first job working for a landscaping company. By high school he was sure his interests in both climbing and plants could be parlayed into a career and made the decision to enroll in a three-year vocational school’s horticulture program. By his senior year in 2012, he began climbing trees and working for a professional tree service. Jon continued to work in the industry for years, standing out with his personal drive, constant curiosity, and strong work ethic. In 2022 he entered his first of many tree climbing competitions, and ventured out on his own leaving his brush dragging days behind him to begin contract climbing as “The Industrial Tarzan LLC.”
2023 is when things get really exciting: he joined the NJ Crane Expert team! He met Hans and Jordan back in 2020 after an Aerial Rescue class and quickly realized his true calling was sharing his wealth of knowledge with others. NJ Crane Expert shared his vision of extending the reach of safety culture, and he was officially invited to join the team as a trainer. In addition to his aforementioned certificates and accolades, Jon is also a Petzl PPE Competency instructor and instructor of beginner and advanced tree climbing/rigging techniques, aerial rescue and much more. His warm, outgoing and chatty nature make him one of NJ Crane Expert’s top instructors. He’s a lifelong learner who is always striving to further his own education and that of others; helping with curriculum development is one of Jon’s favorite things to do when he’s not in the tree or behind the controls. You’re also likely to catch him on social media sharing his knowledge, or at any number of tree industry related events throughout the year.
Outside of work Jon loves a good joke! His hobbies include rock climbing (obviously!) and Jiu-Jitsu, but his biggest passion is spending time with his wife, dogs and extended family. As a company that also values family, NJ Crane Expert is thrilled to include Jon as part of their own.
